A brief description of the character:
Sammy Winchester (ten, brown hair, hazel eyes, not yet tall but quick on his feet) hasn't had a typical childhood. He does not remember his mother, as she died in a terrible fire when he was only 6 months old. His father is a big, gruff man, who shows love and concern by teaching his sons self-reliance and caution. He is largely absent for much of the time, fighting monsters in the dark (no, really, Sammy's daddy can beat up your daddy). Sammy's primary figure of guidance is his older brother, Dean, who figures somewhere between an all-knowing source of information and a caregiver/defender. Far from the usual stability of the young in one home every day, Sammy has lived in a succession of shapeless motel rooms and backwoods cabins, with only an occasional familiar face to welcome him. He therefore carries most of his cherished things with him, in his pockets, and tries to avoid acquiring more.
At ten years old, little Sammy knows how to use a variety of deadly weapons, including deadly firearms that are not legally supposed to be in his hands. He can read texts many children would find overly complex, and his intellect and language areas are advanced. His social advancement is, as you would expect, rather stunted, and he's unused to the long-term company of other children. Adults--or even especially mature children--are met with suspicion. Sammy is not supposed to talk to strangers, even in daylight. Yet he is a bright, curious boy, and sometimes his enthusiasm gets the better of him.
Be careful not to pick a fight with one of the Winchesters. You will need to deal with both, and they're stubborn, rough boys accustomed to depending only on each other.
